SuperTed at The Toy Shop was the fourteenth SuperTed episode on The Biggest Ever SuperTed Video in 1994 and the first episode of Series 2 of SuperTed. It was first broadcast in the UK on BBC1 on 3rd October 1984. It originally aired in Wales on 11 June 1984.
Synopsis[]
Whilst searching for a birthday present for Spotty, SuperTed discovers that Texas Pete and his cronies are planning to rob the biggest toy shop in the world.
Plot[]
It is night time in a local city. Three figures are heading across the rooftops heading towards their destination - the biggest toy shop in the world. Skeleton is afraid of heights. Tex orders him not to look down. Bulk tries to jump across upon hearing the orders of Tex, but instead ends up between the two buildings. Tex instructs Skeleton across and they continue with their plan.
In SuperTed's tree house, his friend Spotty tells him about birthdays on the Planet Spot, thinking SuperTed is looking for a present for him. Upon noticing the Toy Shop has been robbed, SuperTed says his secret magic word and sets off to the rescue.
At the Toy Shop, the villains are hiding. They notice a lady trying on a fake moustache. Bulk takes a gun and points it at the horrified lady. However, he forgets what to say, so Tex orders him to just simply shoot her. Bulk pulls the trigger of the gun, but a bunch of flowers come out of the end, revealing it to be a toy one.
SuperTed and Spotty land the Spotty Rocket in an alley and after Spotty thinks he has seen something unsightly (which is only revealed to be a cat,) they make their way up the fire escape.
Back in the Toy Shop, Tex orders Bulk to open the cash register. Bulk can't find his hammer so uses a crowbar. However, it is fake and ends up knocking Skeleton's head off. Tex, who has lit a cigar, laughs at what he has seen, but yells in fear when his cigar explodes (as it is of course, fake.)
SuperTed and Spotty hear the explosion from the fire escape and head inside the shop. Spotty is fascinated at the sight of the toys. He notices a box and opens it. A jack in the box pops out and makes Spotty jump. Another jack in the box opens with Skeleton jumping out and saying "Boo, rattle, boo."
Spotty states that a jack in the box should never have been made. As they leave, he tickles SuperTed with a feather duster, which he discovered on the floor. SuperTed becomes confused as he didn't see anyone cleaning up. They head back to investigate.
